Let ggg be a smooth Riemannian metric on MMM, p∈Mp\in Mp∈M and r∈Rr\in\mathbb Rr∈R. Define

Bg(p,r)={x∈M:dg(p,x)<max⁡(r,0)}.B_g(p,r)=\{x\in M:d_g(p,x)<\max(r,0)\}.Bg(p,r)={x∈M:dg(p,x)<max(r,0)}.

For r>0r>0r>0 this is the usual metric ball; for r≤0r\le0r≤0 it is empty. The bundle includes its immediate membership, radius inclusion and center-membership properties. The distance is the imported DifferentialGeometry construction. No geodesic convexity, completeness or curvature bound is assumed.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
